Bears in Swan River

Some Swan River residents got quite the startle over the weekend, as there were at least two separate bear sightings in town. Conservation officers and RCMP were seen trying to track down the animals Saturday afternoon, which wandered their way through backyards along 1st street north, near the Echo apartments. There was also a sighting along 2nd street north near 4th Avenue. Conservation officials quickly contained the animals. Although bears in town are rare, remember to always be aware of your surroundings when you are out and about.
