With the warm weather definitely here to stay, the woodticks are here to stay as well. And with that, comes the risk of either you or your pets contracting Lyme disease. Lyme disease is is the most common tick-borne illness in North America, and if not treated fast enough, could be fatal. Medical Officer of Health Dr. Anna Johnson tells CJ Radio that when outdoors, it’s a great idea to stay away from long grass.
Johnson adds that one of the major symptoms of Lyme disease is a red, expanding skin rash.
