Birth in Ambulance

A Swan Valley woman says she’s grateful the paramedics knew what they were doing when she gave birth in an ambulance on the side of Highway 10 this week.

Alannah Guiboche went into labour on Monday and was sent by ambulance from the Swan Valley Health Centre to Dauphin. Turns out, the baby only waited until they got to Pine River.

Guiboche tells CJ104 that it all happened really fast.

Guiboche says she was initially thinking about taking her own vehicle to Dauphin. She’s now glad she chose the ambulance instead, but would have rather given birth in Swan River.

Despite the ordeal, both mom and baby are happy and healthy.
