The RCMP is warning drivers to use caution on the roads this week, as they’ll be cracking down on dangerous driving during road safety week. Sergeant Steve Henson from the Swan River detachment tells CJ 104 that they will be watching over the Swan Valley this week.
Police chose this week because it is the first long weekend of the summer, and there is increased traffic as well as increased collisions. RCMP will be watching for dangerous or impaired driving, as well as seatbelt use. Henson says that receiving a ticket for dangerous driving is still better than facing more serious consequences.
