It was a busy weekend for Swan River RCMP, as reports of three separate vehicle rollovers in the areas of Benito, Kenville, and Swan River occurred in a brief time period. Despite normal weather and road conditions, each vehicle lost control and overturned in unrelated incidents. The most serious, an incident on Highway 83 early Saturday morning, caused the death of a passenger and put the driver in critical condition. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the fatal rollover. Sergeant Steve Henson of the Swan River RCMP says that a spike in auto accidents is unfortunate, but not entirely unusual. With road safety week underway in the Valley and across the country, police wish to remind drivers to use caution when on the roads. Swan River RCMP will be out and about this week watching for unsafe drivers.
